You can name layers in the Layers Palette to make it easier to identify one layer from another. For example, two layers may have information on them in the same place, but one layer is solid, acting and a platform layer, and the other is tonal, providing the design detail.
Naming the layers can be a very productive way of working, because it lets you see at a glance what each layer is. Existing layer names can be changed as many times as required.
- Double click on the text next to a layer or image in the Layers Palette. Until you provide a new, this text will read as Layer. The text will become highlighted.
- Name the layer and press ⮐ (return key) on the keyboard to confirm the change. The information in the Layers Palette will update immediately.
