This feature can be very useful when using secondary windows to check design layouts and separations. Once activated, this feature will allow the secondary window and Design Window to change position and scale simultaneously. As you move or zoom the design in one window, the other keeps up and does exactly the same.
This is particularly useful when performing separations as you can scroll round a window showing the separated layers at the same time as a window showing the original artwork. Comparisons and adjustments can be made there and then.
- Open a design.
- Hold down ⌥ (option key) on the keyboard and go to File Menu > New > Document.
- Go to Window Menu > Tile Windows.
- Go to View Menu > Link Scrolling. The scrolling of the two windows will now be linked.
When creating more secondary windows, they inherit the link status of the active window. To stop any windows linking, hold down ⌥ (option key) on the keyboard and select Link Scrolling (This) to stop the active window from linking. Alternatively, choose Link Scrolling again, without holding down ⌥ (option key) to stop all windows from linking.
Link Scrolling and Tile Windows is automatically activated when using the Split Views feature.
