Split windows adopts all of the advantages of Tile Windows and Link Scrolling, and places them into one simple function. At the click of a button you can instantly divide the view of the active design, allowing you to see your design in different states at the same time.
Splitting the views of the Design Window becomes useful when working out the repeat of a design, because in one view you can see the original motif, and in the second view you can see the components of the repeat. This allows the user to draw instant comparisons on two different versions of a repeat, and make creative decisions very quickly. Creating a split view of a design could not be easier:
- Click the + icon on the bottom left of the Design Window.
- The Design Window is automatically split into two equal views and the active view has a blue dot in the bottom left hand corner. The second view will open in the same state as the original view. This means the second view adopts the visible and active states of each layer and/or image from the original view.
- Adjust the split by dragging the centre division left or right. This allows you to see an increased area of the design in the state you consider to be most important at that time.
- Press the + icon in the bottom left of the Design Window again to split the window into more segments. This allows you to view the design in multiple states, and make several design decisions at one time.
To close a view, simply press the x icon in the bottom left hand corner of the view.
