Protect your colourways from being edited or removed from the file by clicking the Lock icon at the top of the Layer Palette. This is incredibly useful if you have finalised some colourways but still require further adjustments to be made to others.
Further benefit is obtained if several people are responsible for colouring within your company, as locking a colourway prevents any colour changes from being made to any of the layers in the file.
- Select the colourway you wish to lock in the Layers Palette.
- Click the padlock icon.
- Repeat these steps for each colourway in the design you wish to lock.
- Save the file in .ava4 format. Saving as any other format will not save the locked status of your colourways.
Although the feature can only be activated in the Layers Palette and the Colourway Chooser, the locked status extends to all areas within AVA where colourways can be edited, such as the Colourway Browser and the Layout Window.
