This Palette uses a loop to run through all available separated spot layers and apply a grip to the specifications set in the Palette.
The steps performed in the ‘Multi Grip’ Palette
This Palette combines many steps and really saves time for the user. It selects and makes visible all available spot layers, then runs a loop where layer 1 is selected, gripped, moved to the bottom and renamed (_gripped). The loop is specified with a variable to run with number of spot layers, so will adjust autonomously per design file. The grip specification can also be adjusted to suit the needs of the user (see below).
How to use the ‘Multi Grip’ Palette
- Ensure the design document only contains separated spot layers, removing temporarily any other layer types.
- Click the ‘Multi Grip’ Palette to run the action.
- Layers completed during the action will be renamed with ‘_gripped’.
How to edit gripping specification
- Hold ⌥ (option key) and click on the Palette to enter the editing window.
- Click the reveal arrow icon to the left of the Loop entry to show the contents of the loop. There you will see the Gripping entry.
- Click the ‘edit’ icon of the ‘Gripping’ entry to reveal the editing pop up.
- Adjust the gripping specifications to suit and click away to close the editing window. The Palette will now run to the new specifications.
