How to use the IO table to read in calibration targets

Reading in profiles with the Xrite IO table

The IO table works in conjunction with your i1Pro2 spectrophotometer, reading in your profiles automatically and leaving you free to carry on with your others jobs!

Setting up the i0 table

To set up the I0 table to read your targets follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your target from the predefined targets in Printer Cal.
  2. Go to File Menu > Chip Set Up. If you are not sure of your chip set up, you can verify this by looking at the bottom info of your printed targets.
  3. Adjust the height of your spectro and connect the iO table with your system using the USB cable. For more information on adjusting the height to suit your substrate please click here.
  4. Place page 1 of your calibration target on the iO table. Make sure to stay within the black lines marked on the table and that your substrate lies nice and flat. To help you with this, you can use the electrostatic function of your iO table. Simply click on the button in the top right hand corner to activate it. If necessary, you can even use tape to secure the material in place.

  5. Go to Measurement Menu > Instrument > x-rite i1i0

  6. Go to Measurement Menu > Start Measuring. The following window will open:

  7. Choose the appropriate chip set up across and down for the selected target, i.e. 23 chips across and 19 chips down. This should be the same chip set up as defined in step 2.

  8. Select M2 (UV-cut) as measurement illumination condition and either strip or spot read.

  9. Before clicking OK, you need to define the location of the target by marking the corner points of the page. Move Spectro sight finder to the top left hand corner of your print (depending on how you have placed the print on the table, this might not be the top left hand corner of the table) and press the side button until a green light flashes. Now go around the other corners clock-wise, pressing the button at each corner point. You will see in the diagram if the mapping has been successful.

See the below clip for an example:

  10. Click Okay. The iO will now automatically start reading the first page of the target in for you.

  11. Repeat the same steps for each page.
