This preference enables you to specify how many grid cells are used in a grid when using the Select Menu > Distort option in the Edit Menu.

• Number of grid cells across - specifies how many horizontal cells your grid will be divided into once drawn
• Auto render - specify when you see the distortion happen in real time as you edit the grid
  
  
  
• Off - the distortion will only be visible after applying the distortion by selection Edit Menu > Select > Apply Distortion, or by using the shortcut Cmd 9
• On - the distortion will be visible as you edit the grid
• At the end of dragging - the distortion will only be visible when you finish dragging a wide or line on the grid
