Much like the Settings in the AVA software, ColourSys Settings allow you to set up ColourSys according to your needs. Each individual Settings is explain in full detail below. It also lets you control how crash reporting is done from ColourSys.
Go to ColourSys Menu > Settings > Colour Picker
Constrain Animation to List
When choosing colours from the selected colour picker, it may be necessary to restrict the colours available. Constrain Animation to List does this by only allowing you to pick colours that exist in the active colour file.
Constrain Animation to List works throughout ColourSys and AVA, so you can limit colour picking in your designs. With this option switched on, the picker will always snap to the closest colour file colour. With it switched off, you are able to pick any colour you see in the picker wheel. If the colour does not exist in the colour file, you are able to add it to the active colour file and give it a new name.
When constrain is switched on, you can temporarily override it by holding down ^ (control key). So when you pick colours from the picker you don’t have to restrict your choice to the colour file every time.
Animate Colours with Picker
When choosing a new colour with a picker, it will be updated automatically in the design, giving you a preview of how the new colour will affect the other colours.
This option allows animation to be switched off in all pickers which helps to make picking colours much faster, especially with large designs. When using the AVA RGB, Lab and CMYK pickers, animation can still be switched on and off using the Animate check box in the picker window.
Feedback Settings
Although we do our utmost to ensure AVA software is of a very high quality, it is possible, as with all software, that it can crash occasionally. It is extremely important that AVA get to hear about any problems which you may experience in order that we can improve the software.
Your privacy is important to us, and therefore you can set these Settings to either enable or disable the sending of crash reports. Go to ColourSys Menu > Settings ...
- Feedback name - the name attached to to crash report if one is sent to AVA. This makes it easier for us to identify who crashed, if we need to speak to you.
- Send crash reports automatically - will send a report to AVA after a crash in ColourSys. This report is then analysed by our Research and Development Team.
- Display Feedback Dialog after crash - opens a window for you to enter what you were doing in ColourSys which lead to the crash. This information can be extremely helpful to us and can lead to us finding and resolving the problem quickly.
- Warn me if crash reporting is turned off - if ColourSys crashes, you will be alerted if neither of the above options are switched on.
