- Connect the Mimaki to the server station by Ethernet, D-Link adaptor, SEH or Firewire cable.
- If connecting by USB or Firewire, check that the Mimaki is recognised by the server station in the Apple®System Profiler ( Menu > About this Mac® > More Info…).
Driving multiple printers from one server
When you purchase AVA Digital Print RIP, it is initially licensed to drive a single printer. AVA Digital Print RIP can run more than one printer at a time from the same server station but it requires the purchase of additional licences to run extra printers.
Currently some restrictions exist in terms of running several printers on a single print server. For Mimaki printers using FireWire, AVA Digital Print RIP can only support one printer due to technical limitations in the FireWire driver. We are hoping to overcome this in a future release, but for now, it is possible to run multiple Mimaki printers through the AVA Digital Print RIP when connecting via USB or ethernet.
You can drive as many networked printers (such as Mutoh and HP) as you have licences for.
