Add a new dimension to your brushes by using this multi layered effect! Combine textures, drawing levels and transparencies to create truly unique brushes, then share them with your colleagues via a Palette.
- Draw several motifs on different 8 bit (tonal) layers. You can be as creative as you like. The snapshot below shows the use of different patterns applied throughout some of the motifs. You can also apply different transparencies and draw levels to the motifs / brush strokes to create depth in your resulting brush stroke.
- When you have finished editing the motifs / brush strokes, activate all layers, and select Edit Menu > Select All (⌘A).
- Then go to Edit Menu > Select > Snap (⌘/).
- Go to Edit Menu > Copy (⌘C).
- Open the Brushes Library from the Window Menu, and from the window which opens, select Paste from the action menu.
- You will see your new brush added to the library of brushes. If you have used less than 3 layers, the brush icon will appear in cyan, magenta and yellow. If you have used more than 3 layers, the icon will be displayed in greyscale.
Your paintbrush is now ready to be used.
- Create a new design, and add an 8 bit layer in the Layers Palette. Recolour the layer accordingly, and begin painting with your new brush.
